Tracy Ross, Principal, is a distinguished attorney with over two decades of experience in family law. Tracy’s expertise encompasses a wide range of family law areas, including divorce, child custody, child support, and adoptions. Furthermore, she is highly skilled in managing paternity cases, suits affecting the parent-child relationship (SAPCR), and visitation matters. In addition, she adeptly handles modifications and enforcement cases, ensuring comprehensive legal support. Beyond her specialization in family law, Tracy also brings experience in broader civil law issues. As a result, she is recognized as an exceptionally versatile and well-rounded legal professional.
A proud graduate of the St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, Tracy earned multiple honors during her studies, including a place on the Dean’s List, a Pro-Bono Representation Award, and recognition for her performance in Trial Advocacy-Mock Trial. Additionally, she graduated in the top 25% of her class, a testament to her dedication and academic excellence. Before pursuing her legal career, she obtained her degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, in December 1983.
Tracy Ross says “When I graduated from Texas A&M, I had considered going to law school, but instead felt driven to get a job and start working. By the time I’d spent a decade working as a production manager in the pharmaceutical industry, I was bored and not impassioned about my career. I also went through a divorce and after relocating to New Braunfels was selected to serve on a grand jury. At that point, I took a hard look at myself and realized I needed to decide on a fulfilling career path. The combination of divorce and my fascination with the grand jury service rekindled my interest and pointed me in the direction of law.”
While attending law school from 2001 to 2002, Tracy gained valuable experience by working as a law clerk. During this time, she assisted law firm partners as well as their associate attorneys in handling criminal defense cases. Moreover, her work spanned both state and federal levels, further enhancing her legal expertise. She drafted motions and briefs, conducted extensive legal research, and prepared detailed memorandums of law. Additionally, she reviewed video and audio recording evidence, transcribed or summarized key content, and filed pleadings with the court. Furthermore, she provided general support to paralegals, ensuring seamless assistance for the attorneys. This hands-on experience in the demanding environment of a law firm not only honed her skills but also laid a solid foundation for her transition into practicing as an attorney.
